The MAICO Pilot Test audiometer is a child-friendly screening speech test system designed to assess hearing and speech comprehension. It is suitable for children from around 3 years of age and supports the early detection of hearing disorders. Using an image board, children match the words they hear, allowing assessment of both speech perception and comprehension. This playful, practical approach improves cooperation in young patients and enhances the reliability of paediatric hearing diagnostics. For school-age children and older, pure-tone audiometry with 8 frequencies is also available in accordance with the Children’s Directive, extending diagnostic capability to tonal hearing evaluation within a single system for different age groups. The MAICO Pilot Test supports multilingual speech testing, making it suitable for diverse patient groups. Operation is straightforward with clearly structured test sequences, while results are displayed in real time on an LED colour display. Supplied headphones with well-insulated acoustic protective cups ensure a controlled testing environment.
