The MAVIG RP270 Breast Shield provides effective radiation protection for female patients during mammography. It is designed to protect the mammary glands from ionising radiation and helps reduce exposure during X-ray examinations. The shield consists of two flexible protective panels (18 × 40 cm each) connected by an adjustable hook-and-loop fastening system, allowing individual adaptation and easy application. This ensures high wearing comfort and efficient handling in daily clinical use. With a lead equivalent of 0.50 mm Pb, the RP270 offers reliable protection within the 50–150 kV X-ray range. The internal standard lead shielding is fully edged for increased durability and long service life. The outer material ComforTex® HPMF Duplex is PFC-free and Oeko-Tex® 100 certified, supporting hygiene, skin compatibility, and easy cleaning. The design is based on DIN EN 13795-1:2019, ensuring material strength and barrier performance. The RP270 Breast Shield complies with EU Regulation 2016/425 (PPE) and EU Regulation 2017/745 (medical devices) and includes an RFID chip for efficient tracking in clinical workflows.
