Description

3M Soft Cast is a semi-rigid fibreglass support bandage developed for immobilisation in human medicine. The breathable carrier material and soft edges provide high wearing comfort while helping to minimise skin irritation. Its good elasticity enables precise adaptation to individual body contours, improving stability and supporting patient safety. The bandage cures within 3 to 5 minutes and is fully load-bearing after approximately 20 to 30 minutes, supporting efficient workflows in healthcare environments. 3M Soft Cast can also be combined with splints or other Scotchcast products, allowing the level of immobilisation to be adapted flexibly to treatment requirements. The dynamic pressure effect on the soft tissues supports the reduction of swelling and helps minimise the risk of immobilisation-related complications such as joint stiffness or circulatory disorders. The bandage can be removed safely and painlessly using a conventional plaster shear, supporting hygiene and patient comfort.
