Description

ACTICOAT™ FLEX 3 from Smith & Nephew is an antimicrobial wound dressing with sustained bactericidal activity for up to three days. It delivers continuous release of highly concentrated silver, reducing microbial load in the wound bed, helping prevent local infection, and inhibiting biofilm formation. The broad antimicrobial spectrum includes antibiotic-resistant pathogens such as MRSA and VRE. The dressing is highly flexible and conformable, allowing adaptation to a wide range of wound shapes and anatomical areas. It can be used as a surface dressing or for wound packing. The open-mesh structure supports effective exudate drainage and helps maintain a moist wound environment. ACTICOAT™ FLEX 3 is suitable for acute and chronic wounds, including burns, surgical wounds, leg ulcers, diabetic foot ulcers and pressure ulcers. It can be cut to size, is easy to apply, and offers good handling in clinical use. Low adherence to the wound helps reduce pain during dressing changes and supports patient safety. The dressing is sterile and compatible with negative pressure wound therapy systems such as RENASYS◊ and PICO◊.
