Description

CATGUT CHROM with Needle is a resorbable suture made of purified collagen, tanned with chromium salts to provide a controlled absorption profile. The suture is absorbed gradually over approximately 90 days, while retaining around 50% of its tensile strength after 14 days, providing continued support during the healing phase. The twisted suture has a monofilament-like appearance and offers excellent knot security and good handling properties. Its smooth, atraumatically ground surface facilitates smooth passage through tissue, helping to minimise tissue trauma and the sawing effect during suturing. The dark brown suture is supplied sterile and is suitable for the adaptation of soft tissue and ligatures in general surgery, visceral surgery, gynaecology, obstetrics, urology and ophthalmology. The controlled absorption profile makes CATGUT CHROM a practical option for procedures requiring temporary suture support.
