Description

MERSILENE™ PRIME is a synthetic, non-absorbable suture material made from ≥ 99.25% polyethylene terephthalate (polyester), developed for permanent tissue approximation and ligation across a wide range of surgical disciplines. The braided structure ensures excellent handling and supports secure knot formation, enabling reliable fixation and long-term stability of the suture line. The material is dyed green, providing high visibility in the surgical field and supporting precise placement during procedures. Its minimal tissue reaction combined with permanent tensile strength makes MERSILENE™ PRIME particularly suitable for applications requiring durable support, including cardiac, ophthalmic, neurosurgical and plastic surgery techniques. Equipped with Ethicon PRIME® needles featuring cross-geometry tip design, the system enables improved penetration and enhanced precision, particularly in plastic and cosmetic procedures. The square needle body increases stability in the needle holder and reduces twisting, supporting controlled and accurate suturing. MERSILENE™ PRIME complies with the requirements of the European Pharmacopoeia (Ph. Eur.) and the United States Pharmacopeia (USP) for non
