Description

SPONGOSTAN™ is a reliable absorbable haemostatic gelatin sponge for effective control of bleeding during surgical procedures, particularly when conventional methods such as pressure or ligation are insufficient. The product is made from highly purified porcine gelatin, is sterile, and can be used either dry or moistened with sterile saline or thrombin solution. If required, it can be easily cut to size for precise adaptation to different bleeding sites. Its malleable, water-insoluble structure provides an effective matrix for platelet adhesion and aggregation, supporting natural coagulation and enabling reliable haemostasis in capillary, venous, and arteriolar bleeding. SPONGOSTAN™ is fully absorbable, typically within 4–6 weeks, eliminating the need for removal and simplifying post-procedural management. Easy handling and immediate readiness for use support efficient workflows in the operating theatre and allow flexible application across a wide range of surgical procedures (excluding ophthalmic use). It offers a practical solution for fast, reliable haemostasis in everyday surgical practice. Powder can be processed with 4–10 ml saline solution or thrombin to form a paste Indicati
