Description

Surgicryl® 910 with Needle is a synthetic, braided and coated resorbable suture made of polyglactin 910. It is designed for soft-tissue closure and ligatures and combines good flexibility, manageability and knot security for reliable handling during suturing. The suture is coated with polycaprolactone and calcium stearate, which reduces surface friction and facilitates smooth passage through tissue. This helps support gentle tissue handling during suturing. The braided construction provides good flexibility and handling properties, while the suture's high tensile strength and secure knot formation support reliable tissue adaptation. The predictable absorption profile supports the healing process: approximately 50% of the tensile strength is retained after 21 days, providing continued support during wound healing. Complete absorption occurs by hydrolysis within approximately 56 to 70 days.
