Description

Surgicryl® MONOFILAMENT without Needle is a synthetic monofilament suture made of polydioxanone. It combines high, durable tensile strength with minimal tissue reactivity, providing reliable support during the adaptation of soft tissue. The suture undergoes hydrolytic resorption and is completely absorbed within approximately 180 to 210 days, offering a predictable absorption profile throughout the healing process. The suture has a uniform diameter and passes smoothly through tissue, helping to minimise tissue drag and tissue trauma. As a monofilament, it has no capillary action, which limits the potential for bacterial migration along the suture. Its excellent knot-sliding characteristics facilitate secure knot tying, while the good flexibility and suppleness provide convenient handling during suturing. Supplied without a needle, the suture can be combined with a suitable needle according to the requirements of the procedure.
