Description

The Surgicryl® PGA Ligapack is a braided, coated multifilament suture made of polyglycolic acid for the adaptation of soft tissue and ligatures. The suture is coated with polycaprolactone and calcium stearate, which reduces surface friction and facilitates smooth passage through tissue, helping to minimise tissue drag and tissue trauma. The suture combines high tensile strength with excellent knot security, providing reliable support during suturing. Its braided construction offers good flexibility and handling properties, while the reduced capillarity limits fluid absorption along the suture. The suture undergoes hydrolytic resorption and is completely absorbed within approximately 60 to 90 days. Approximately 50% of the tensile strength is retained after 21 days, providing continued support during the healing process. The Surgicryl® PGA Ligapack is suitable for soft-tissue adaptation and ligatures in various surgical fields, including general surgery, gynaecology and plastic surgery. The suture is supplied in airtight packaging to maintain sterility and product integrity until use.
