Description

Surgicryl® PGA with Needle is a braided, synthetic suture made of polyglycolic acid. It is characterised by high tensile strength and excellent knot security. Its coated surface reduces friction and allows the suture to pass smoothly through tissue, supporting gentle and precise suturing. The suture undergoes hydrolytic resorption and is completely absorbed within approximately 60 to 90 days. Approximately 50% of its tensile strength is retained after 21 days, providing continued support during the healing process. Its minimal tissue reactivity supports gentle wound healing. The combination of high flexibility and good knot-sliding characteristics facilitates handling and efficient knot tying, including in demanding surgical procedures. Surgicryl® PGA with Needle is suitable for the adaptation of soft tissue and ligatures in various surgical fields, including general surgery, visceral surgery and gynaecology. The suture is supplied sterile in airtight packaging and includes a needle, providing a ready-to-use solution for surgical suturing. Not suitable for: Cardiac and vascular surgery, neurosurgery, and tissues requiring long-term suture support
