Description

Surgicryl® PGA without Needle is a braided, synthetic multifilament suture made of polyglycolic acid. It is characterised by high tensile strength and excellent knot security. The suture is coated with polycaprolactone and calcium stearate, which reduces surface friction and allows it to pass smoothly through tissue, helping to minimise tissue drag and tissue trauma. The suture combines high flexibility with good handling properties and excellent knot-sliding characteristics, facilitating efficient knot tying during surgery. Its minimal tissue reactivity supports gentle wound healing. The predictable absorption profile provides continued suture support during the healing process: approximately 50% of the tensile strength is retained after 21 days, while complete absorption occurs within approximately 60 to 90 days. The suture is supplied in airtight packaging to maintain sterility and is suitable for the adaptation of soft tissue and ligatures in various surgical fields, including general surgery, visceral surgery, gynaecology, plastic surgery and urology.
