Description
The absorbable suture material VICRYL™ Plus PRIME provides added value in surgical wound closure. The antibacterial agent triclosan (IRGACARE® MP) acts against common pathogens associated with postoperative wound infections, including MRSA and MRSE, supporting infection prevention during suturing. The material has a braided polyglactin 910 structure, ensuring smooth tissue passage, reliable handling, and secure knot formation. The coating helps reduce tissue trauma and supports controlled suturing in clinical use. With up to 4 weeks of tensile strength and full absorption after approximately 63 days, VICRYL™ Plus PRIME is suitable for soft tissue approximation and ligation in general, visceral, gynaecological, urological, and orthopaedic surgery, including higher-risk infection cases. The One-step RELAY Zipper packaging supports safe and efficient handling, reduces the risk of needlestick injuries, and allows fast product access in the operating theatre.
