The absorbable suture material VICRYL RAPIDE™ provides optimal support for procedures where only short-term wound support is required. Thanks to its braided and coated surface, the thread is particularly easy to handle and enables secure knotting as well as gentle and atraumatic passage through the tissue. The synthetic material composition ensures minimal tissue reaction and reliable absorption – after about 42 days, the suture material is completely resorbed. Especially in the hectic daily work in a medical practice, you benefit from the predictable loss of tensile strength: after just 5 days, around 50% of the original strength remains, and after 10 to 14 days, the thread is slack and usually does not need to be actively removed.
