Description

The model of a human jaw consists of an upper and lower jaw, which are mounted on a stand. The model can be removed from the stand to facilitate demonstrations. The upper and lower jaws are connected palatally/lingually by a flexible metal spring and can be opened. The model displays the complete set of human teeth, either as a model with 20 milk teeth or as an adult set with 32 teeth. The upper jaw (maxilla) shows the positions of the cheekbones, nasal bone and nasal cavity. The lower jaw (mandible) shows the joints, muscle extensions, the ascending mandibular and the chin. In addition to the bone structures the detailed view presents the roots, the cancellous bone, vessels and nerves. Chewing motions, jaw positions and malocclusions can be demonstrated thanks to the flexible attachment of the upper and lower jaw. The milk teeth model also shows the permanent teeth in the opened jaw.
