Description

This Kilner retractor is a disposable instrument and is part of the Peha®-instrument series from Hartmann. The surgical retractor is a double-ended instrument with a Langenbeck retractor on one end and a 3-pronged hook for less delicate tissue, on the other end. The retractor is made of brushed steel and is clearly marked on both sides as a single-use instrument. This reduces the risk of mixing up disposable instruments with reusable instruments. The 16 cm-long retractor is individually sterile packed and has a sterile shelf life of 5 years. Retractors are used to hold open a surgical area or for keeping organs separate. This retractor is a combination instrument that can be used to hold both, separated non-sensitive and sensitive tissue.
