SoToxa™ Oral Fluid Test Kit 5 is specifically designed for the Oral Fluid Mobile Test System and is used to detect five different drugs in saliva samples. The test kit consists of the SoToxa disposable test cassette containing test reagents and SoToxa™ saliva collector. To perform a test, the test cassette is first inserted into the analyser. Then a saliva sample is taken with the saliva collector. Once the indicator has turned completely blue, sufficient saliva has been collected. The saliva collector is then inserted into the test cassette. The saliva flows along by capillary effect and picks up labelled anti-drug antibodies in the process. Drug-protein conjugates have been applied to specific areas of the strip in stripes that are invisible to the human eye. If there are no drugs in the sample solution, the anti-drug antibody binds to the protein conjugate and forms a test line. In the presence of a drug, the formation of this complex is reduced, resulting in a weaker test line. The analyser evaluates the intensity of the line on the test strips, then compares it to a predetermined threshold of concentration curves and reports qualitative test results.
