Description

The AeroHippus is an aid that enables the inhalation of aerosols in horses. The aerosol chamber is used together with dosage aerosols from human medicine to provide supportive therapy for acute or chronic inflammatory respiratory diseases (damping) in horses. It is not possible for animals to inhale the metered dosage aerosol immediately when the spray is triggered. The speed of the aerosol particles released can be reduced with the aid of the aerosol chamber (spacer).The atomised aerosols first collect in the aerosol chamber so that the particles are not sprayed onto the pharyngeal and oral mucosa when the dosage aerosol is triggered. Coarser aerosol particles stick to the spacer and are not inhaled, as they cannot reach the bronchioles anyway due to their size. During inhalation, only small particles can pass through the fine bronchial tubes and develop their targeted effect. The AeroHippus enables gentle inhalation of medication aerosols with few side effects and is therefore often recommended as a supportive therapy measure for respiratory diseases.
