Description

The Vet Reflective Sensor from Nonin Medical can be used in combination with the PalmSAT® 2500A pulse oximeter to monitor medium and large animals. It is particularly suitable to be attached beneath the tail in proximity of the anus, on the paw pads or between the toes. Thus, the reflective sensor proves to be very convenient, especially for dental treatments. The space where the sensor is to be attached should be shaved carefully. After positioning the reflective sensor, you fixate it with gauze bandage, elastic conforming bandage or tape. Make sure that the fixation is neither too loose nor too tight. If it is fixed too tightly, the blood can’t flow correctly anymore, and if the fixation is too loose, the sensor might shift and show incorrect measurements. In the case of large dogs, the area between the toes is an ideal space to attach the device. The fur needs to be thoroughly removed and the paw should be completely wrapped in gauze or elastic bandage to prevent the device from shifting.
