Nonin Medical's wrap sensor for the PalmSAT® 2500A VET pulse oximeter can be used for small and medium large animals. The sensor can be wrapped around different body parts such as the toes, the base of a dog's tail and the paws of smaller animals, such as rats. The Vet wrap sensor should be attached to poorly pigmented body parts that are free of fur or plumage. Moreover, it is important that the diodes are situated on opposite sides. You need to be particularly careful with small animals and not wrapping the sensor to tightly to avoid a strangulation of limbs. In any case, using the sensor on translucent body parts with good blood circulation will guarantee reliable measurements.
