Description

The Nasopharyngeal Airway from Dahlhausen is made from soft PVC and is designed to keep the airways open. The Wendl style airway is most often used in postoperative phases with low consciousness patients. The airway is inserted through the nose and the tip lies in the throat (pharynx). Therefore, it is especially suited for patients who cannot tolerate Guedel airways. With proper positioning, the Wendl airway triggers little to no gag reflex and prevents the tongue from falling back.
